Interfaith Ministries is the local outreach of faith-based congregations that seek to express their faith in God through love and care for Wichita County and Holliday residents in need.
- Over fifty congregations have made a written commitment to support the work of IMI. Another 10-15 congregations lend a helping hand as well, providing volunteers, financial support and pantry donations, making possible the outreach ministry of IMI. By pooling their resources, the congregations reduce duplication of effort and assistance.
- Rather than searching for help from the individual congregations, people in need can request assistance at the center at 1101 11th Street.
- IMI congregations refer families to the center for assistance, and in return, are asked to support IMI in three ways: with food for the pantry, with financial contributions, and with volunteers.
- IMI congregations refer families to the center for assistance, and in return, are asked to support IMI in four ways; with food for the pantry, financial contributions, volunteers and prayer.
- The material assistance provided might only help temporarily with the problem, but the emotional and spiritual support offered can make a real difference in a person’s perspective during a crisis.
- In addition to congregations, Interfaith Ministries is supported by indivduals, businesses, civic groups, schools and foundations.
